LB Agar Pouch – Nutrient-Rich Medium for Bacterial Cultivation

LB Agar is a solidified version of LB broth, offering a nutrient-rich medium essential for the cultivation of E. coli and other gram-negative bacteria. It is widely used for preparing DNA plasmids, recombinant proteins, and for pathogen recognition.

The LB Agar formulation includes four key ingredients: tryptone, yeast extract, sodium chloride, and agar. These components provide a comprehensive mix of amino acids, peptides, vitamins, and minerals necessary for bacterial growth.

Our pre-measured LB Agar pouches are designed for the preparation of 0.5 liters of LB Agar, ensuring convenience and consistency in your experiments. Simply follow the instructions to
create the ideal medium for your research.

LB Agar Media – 0.5 Liter Preparation:

  • Tryptone: 5 g
  • Yeast Extract: 2.5 g
  • Sodium Chloride: 2.5 g
  • Agar: 7.5 g

Preparing LB Agar:

  1. Add one bag of LB Agar powder to 450 ml of deionized water.
