DMEM Low Sugar Pouch for Cell Culture

DMEM (Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium) with low sugar is a versatile cell culture medium specifically designed for cultivating mammalian cells, particularly in studies requiring reduced glucose concentrations or controlled energy metabolism. This formulation supports essential cellular functions while better mimicking physiological conditions, making it ideal for glucose-sensitive cells. DMEM offers an optimized composition with enhanced levels of key amino acids and vitamins, providing superior performance for various cell culture applications. It should be noted that DMEM requires supplementation with additives such as fetal bovine serum (FBS) and other nutrients to create a fully balanced culture environment.

DMEM High Sugar Components – 1 Liter Preparation (see formulation):

• Glucose: 1 g/L
• L-glutamine
• Sodium Pyruvate
• Phenol Red
• Sodium Bicarbonate (excluded in the pouch)
• Amino Acids: Comprehensive profile
• Vitamins: Full spectrum
• Salts: Balanced electrolytes

Preparing DMEM High Sugar media:

1. Add a pouch of DMEM High Sugar powder to 900 ml of deionized water in a container.
2. Add 3.7 g of sodium bicarbonate to the container.
3. Mix well using a magnetic stirrer until the powder is completely dissolved.
4. Adjust the pH to 7.2–7.4 if necessary.
5. Add deionized water to bring the volume to 1 liter.
6. Sterilize the solution by filtration.
